REGISTERED DATA

When you register with FeedGhost, we store the following:

Note that we don’t store your password, we store a password hash instead. This means that even we don’t know your password.

We won’t make any personally identifiable data public, with the exception of your username, as described below.

We will use your email address to notify you of important subscription information (for example, payment receipts).

We may use your email address to send you details of information directly relevant to the FeedGhost service (for example, new products in the FeedGhost range).

COLLECTED DATA

Subscriptions

If you’ve registered with FeedGhost, and you use the application, we store a list of subscriptions you’re currently subscribed to, plus the states of the articles within.

We won’t make these subscriptions public in a way that identifies you.

We may at some point in the future release collated data based on all users, for example, top ten subscriptions.

We may allow registered users to publicly publish selected subscriptions or articles. This will be an opt-in system; by default, nothing will be published without you specifically asking it to be.

Crash Reports

You can choose whether to send crash reports to us, and if you do send them, whether they’re associated with your user account. While crash reports are useful to us to help improve the application, you are under no obligation to send them, and you can turn off this functionality entirely from the options dialog. FeedGhost will ask whether to send them on the first crash.

Other than your username, if you choose to include it, the crash reports contain no personally identifiable information. You may choose to view the crash reports when you are asked whether to send them.

We won’t make these crash reports public in a way that identifies you.

We may at some point in the future release collated data based on all users, for example, top ten crashes.

POSTED DATA

When you post on the forums, or comment on a blog post, the information is available for anyone, registered or unregistered, to see. When commenting on a blog post, you do not need to use your real name. When posting on the forums, we will display your username. At some point in the future we will allow a ‘display name’ for forum posts, separate from your username and real name.

PAYMENTS

When you make a payment, we store:

We will not make any personally identifiable payment data public.

Currently we use PayPal to process payment; we may make use of other payment processing companies in the future, but which one is being used will always be visible on the payment page.

As part of the payment system we share a payment identifier with the selected payment processing company. If you don’t wish to use our selected payment company, you may alternatively pay by cheque.
